I started multiple FGC organizations in places I’ve lived simply to keep this feeling alive. I started playing fighting games at the age of nine. I’m almost 43 as of writing this, and I run a daily after school program designed to teach kids life skills and social concepts they don’t learn in school through the lens of learning how to play fighting games with a peer group. Human beings need positive personal relationships and meaningful connection; we fester as people without it.
