Go and ask Stuart Dinsey. It was the start of the working week reading CTW and later MCV for a long time. Very distribution retailer focused though. A brilliant indie like The Yak - who had to fight to get his work out there in the micro era - would be very surprised if he had read CTW.
That's not an HMV spokeman - that's the UK NTDO PR rep at the time - IIRC his face was used for some of the Goldeneye 64 magazine covers as they did not have the rights for the actor at the time.
remember seeing IGN folks sitting on the floor outside playing Pokemon and seeing some Japanese parents shake their heads quite dismissively at them
there was a special Pokemon distributed at that event
I was there with Paul Davies from CVG, and met with Jeremy Chubb from Acclaim who made it from Narita airport seconds before the event started - and they nearly refused him entry as he was wearing a PS2 T-Shirt!
remember thinking WaveRace looked great
was annoyed that despite being in development with "Burnout" on the Gamecube hardware at the time - the UK Nintendo PR folks refused to give us one of the brochures they were handing out to Press. (they had a massive pile of them) (In the end Paul from CVG got us some..)
Still one of my favourite games of all time. And the industry is a lesser place without folks like Martyn, Sarah, Walter et al around.
Have to say though, definitely was not me at that SEGA meeting with Naka-san back then. I was still employed at Acclaim Entertainment at that time - and yet to meet the Bizarre folks for "Furballs"....
Great times, great people, and MSR on ReDream is still GREAT.

Re: Video Game Legend Julian "Jaz" Rignall Has Written A Book About His Life In Gaming
He must have bought some special Letter Writing Trousers.
When is it released? Book a seat for Who Knows City.
Use "all your arcade tactics" and then put this at the Top of your Videogaming Books Shopping List.

@Sketcz get in touch with Leon Deith - am sure he has several interesting stories about Ireland and the coin-op business.
Re: This Tribute To Quake Is Just 13 Kilobytes In Size
