The upside to this is that it seems karma has been consistently dogpiling Naka.
With Sonic '06's development making him leave SEGA, creating a game studio only to leave it as well after producing one mediocre game, and joining Square Enix and quit once again after developing the trainwreck that was Balan Wonderworld.
Now he's just some total has-been who has retreated to making cheap, uninspired mobile games.
@MARl0 Konami has a long history of mistreating Castlevania. They demoted the director of the original NES trilogy to a menial manager position at one of their game centers when Castlevania III failed to sell well, causing him to quit soon after.
It's honestly sad. This guy, Hitoshi Akamatsu, saw video games as an artform and he always tried to infuse his projects with a cinematic quality through the use of storylines and epic music. In some ways, he was the original Kojima.
It's sad that Atari has become such a joke after 1982.
With their hand in the 1983 crash, lucrative business deals that went nowhere, a roster of failed consoles, and now resorting to online fundraising with shady results, it feels as though some curse has been placed on the brand.

Re: The Creator Of The World's Most Famous Cheat Code Has Died
Sad to hear. I still couldn't beat Gradius with the code but it was nice to have regardless.

Re: Atari's Attempt To Relaunch The VCS Has Just Hit Another Brick Wall
@victordamazio I think brands are effectively immortal.
Maybe when "Atari III" dies and reincarnates again, we would finally get some games worth our time.

Re: Atari Comes Under Fire For Seemingly Knowing Very Little About Its Crowdfunded VCS Console
I thought the announcement of the Atari V.C.S. was weird but now...
