watching these screenshots just makes me wonder why it was cancelled. It looked like a great game, and with StarFox 2 having almost the same development issues and being released through the SNES classic mini console, I think Sonic x-Treme could have an official release for modern consoles as we are living on a 'Sonic Renaissance" that started with Sonic Mania and the live action movies.
Honestly, I wanted that phone but my mom got me a Blackberry Curve, so it meant I had to carry my phone and my PSP (yes, unfortunately I skipped the DS). The phone had potential to dethrone Nintendo as it was a 2 by 1 package of portable console and phone at the same time. I hope sony reconsiders as intoday's enbironment of cloud gaming, the Xperia has opportunity for a comeback in a v2 that updates to modern controls and utility.
I remember the coaxial RF cable was bought for the N64 when I wanted to play on my grandparent's old black/white tv. But honestly composite AV was a good option for consoles although newer tv models now aren't compatible with any of those cables now.
My friends and I agree the live action movie caused what we call "the cinematic gaming apocalypse of 1993". Not saying that the movie is too bad but, in that time there was few lore on super mario bros. and felt the director misunderstood the concept as the movie was more inspired by the mario bros arcade game than the proper super mario bros game of 1985
Its impressive how technology has advanced throughout the years. the snes mini is kinda portable ass easy to move anywhere unlike its original counterpart, but playing it on the go its something quite interesting.
I was actually wanting this phone, as during this time I was more into PSP than DS, unfortunately I couldn't get it. I just feel that it was ahead of its time and should get some recognition for its attempt.
The SNES had lots of great games and I at least play SMW in its original version, as its the only nintendo console I never owned and played it on a trip to my cousin's house. If i could pick a No. 1 game, it would be between super metroid and a link to the past
