@Sketcz @Andee I find achievements pointless, meaningless, wastes of time that do absolutley nothing for me.
If others like the virtual ass pats for doing the most mundane tasks in a game, like booting the game, or beating the first chapter , then good for them I suppose.
But they do nothing for me and generally speaking I ignore them.
The only "use" and i use that term loosely, they may have is to see how many gamers reach certain points and finish their games .
But other then that they are virtual knick knacks.
That's usually seller code for "we have tried it but it doesnt work so we are covering our arses" Or "we cant be bothered to test it buy at your own risk"
@Starless Because quite frankly it got @SnowyAria 's attention and she wants to tackle it and bring it to the attention of more people, because its an endearingly dorky game made with the best intentions ?
That's my best guess, she can shed more light on the thing.
And most quirky and unusual untranslated games are still for the most part from Japan.
I bought the game as recently as May, and while I am no SHMUP fan, Radient Silvergun lives up to it's reputation. If not its pricetag. I paid on the lower end of the scale, and it was still a thee figure sum.
@Blast16 No I generally dont care for manufactured hype or trailers or announcements of announcements of a trailer, that lasts 30 seconds for a product, thats still years away from release.
That doesnt generate interest for me it sabotages it. I dont get interested in a product unless i can buy it right away or if the wait is short.
Like say 6 weeks or 2 months.
These attempts to generate hype and interest always fall flat for me.
Voltron ( 1985 ) is like Robotech a contraction of existing Japanese mecha shows Beast King Golion ( 1981 ) and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV. Originally WEP wanted to adpat Daltanious but due to a mix up ( the one with the lions ) they got GoLion instead
The rest uh, is as they say history. Voltron season 1 features mostly Golion season 2 and the "movie" is made up from Dairugger.
Lightspeed Electroid Albegas was also supposed to be part of Voltron or the third Voltron but this never came to pass.
Lion Voltron was so popular it eclipsed Dairugger, and Toei was commissioned to animate new episodes.
Lion Voltron is in fact so popular, it eclipsed it's original Golion incarnation. It's after all Voltron that endures 40 years hence, not Golion, or Dairugger or Albegas Let alone Daltanious
Super Sentai has been around since 1975 But the version that was turned in to Power Rangers is the sixteenth series. Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger , which is named Galaxy Rangers by Toei for international publishing.
Footage for Zyuranger has been used extensively for the first 3 Power Ranger seasons.
Power Rangers the IP these days is owned by Hasbro. Toei owns the costumes props and original sentai versions
( edit: bought the bundle, 2 and 3 are now part of my library with soon tags)
Moar edit: the game is the original, not Dir cut ( no arrange mode )
The opening FMV is in color and very much uncensored.
It's very crunchy though.
Tried an X One controller with it and it works fine.
Not exactly thrilled by the costume to be honest. It might be popular because other then the jaguar mask, the clothes are normal relatable and something most people would have worn at least once.
It also makes for easy cosplaying. But its not a costume that I care much for.
@Sketcz It's a glorified rental. If you go in like that is passable, just don't expect to own anything. I got gamepass on my Xone X, i've played quite a few games i never would have bought before. But I am under no illusions than that they are anything other then a rental.
At least they are upfront about it. But if this is the future of gaming then i'll pass and fully retreat in to retro.
Al the games in the Switch Online service are purely rentals.
The moment your sub runs out you lose access to them
The only games you can actually buy and own on the NX are the bottom row in that picture.
Thats still a lot of Zelda but to own the entire series you need a Gamecube with GBA player as well.
@Blast16
Atari Doom was coded by Carmack himself. ( the engine at least )

Re: Super-Rare SNES PlayStation Controller Is Going Up For Auction
@gingerbeardman
Most likely yes.
Though lets be honest here, its just appears to be a bog standard Snes controller, with a slightly different shell.
The Sony Playstation tampographs are what makes it valuable.

I wouldn't have minded seeing a rally stage, based on the redwood park though.
Re: You Can Now Quadruple The Original Xbox's RAM, But We Wouldn't Advise It Just Yet
Saw this on Youtube.
It left me wondering why bother ?
The Xbox cant even handle it, games cant even use that much ram.
Doing it for the sake of i suppose ?
Ive also seen modders replace the socket and the cpu in the Xbox.
Steady on lads it's not a pc.
Re: GameCube Gets Achievements Thanks To The Dolphin Emulator
Horjay, meaningless ass pats for doing mundane tasks in video games !
I dont like "achievements" never did.
I am in a minority of that though.
Re: Evercade VS-R, EXP-R And Tomb Raider Collection Hit By Small Delay
Oh, well, and extra month wont kill ye.
I'm hopingwaiting for a controller with dual sticks and a firmware that makes use of em.
40 Winks is terrible with the standard controller or even a 360 one.

A glorified rental, no thanks.

I got the DVD version.
It looks and runs fine, using a 360 controller.
Wish it replaced the keyboard prompts for Xbox button prompts though.

It's already been updated too.

Article is unclear on that.

It's on the level of Deadly Premonition isnt it ?
Edit: also, your Youtube link returns a 404 error.

@SnowyAria "Alone in the Dark (the 360 era one), etc, and I love those trash fires too!"

Re: The Soundtrack To SNES Doom Just Got An MSU-1 Upgrade
A new patch adds CD-quality music, as well as "circlestrafing and the ability to start any episode on any difficulty."
That's the part that got my attention
Throw in a way to save progress and the Snes port would be just fine.
Re: The "Worst PlayStation RPG Ever" Is Getting A Fan Translation
@Starless
No it's more like it's so bad its hilarious.
So inept that all you can do is point and laugh at its many faults.
Like MST3K did with many many many terrible ( or dull ) movies.
The worst thing entertainment can do is be boring.
( mostly, crashing every 5 seconds leaking memory or destroying the contents of your hard drive if you uninstall it are pretty high up there as well )
Re: Random: Was Hudson Copying Sega's Homework With Adventure Island III's Palm Trees?

Just for shigs I had a look on Ebay for Japanese soft drink cans from 1990.
The only ones I came across with a palmtree on ti are these from 1993

One of them does ape the Sega design if you squint.
Maybe its a Japanese cultural thing ?
