@Sketcz MattMcmuscles ( the youtube channel in questions) is on a "quest"of sorts to find the worst beat em up. The king of crap was Criticom until its been dethroned by Expect No Mercy.
He tackles most of the titles you cited.
Kasumi Ninja is ..uhm..special in a goofy fun sort of way. Shaq Fu is ...Shaq Fu, not terrible not great either.
And I kind of want A Rise Of The Robots Just to see how terrible it is. Clearly I am a masochist.
The 3DO really needs a reappraisal. It might have been a failure back in the day but it has a decent sized library. And while most of its best games are ports, they are still worth a go.
@Hank_Scorpio It's from an old N64 magazine show casing Duke Nukem Zero hour ? ( the time travel one ) One of the screen shots had a snarky caption about sheriff Ted Nindo outlawing alcohol.
@Axelay71 Yeah I hear you there. The most common excuse is that the Neo Geo Cd load times are abysmal. And they are , but I take a 30 second wit over having to pay triple for a game.
At a guess it might be because the Neo CD sold even less then the AESMVS and its a tiny niche within an already tiny niche.
Never been a fan of Shinobi, the difficulty spikes hard and early. But this is still excellent news, it wil hopefully showcase the abilities of the Saturn
@Bonggon5 Like how a lot of people that buy brand new vinyl records just to use them as a display piece ?
Reminds me that I should unwrap that new copy of Breakers I got for the NeoGeo CD.
@gingerbeardman
It's almost always FOMO. If not FOMO then It's consoooomers ( those are the type of "collectors" that line their walls with un opened funko flops, in case they lose their so called value )
Some holy necro Batman, but I've honestly not been impressed by my wired Strikerdc pad. The triggers feel flimsy and lac tactile feedback. They squeek. The right one often jams But worse of all the controller randomly refuses to recognizes my VMU's, which the official controller has no issue with.
I might have a dodgy one, but the strikerdc pad is a bit of a failure.
"It doesn't even work on my original JP FZ-1," says Twitter user @theZackcat. "The quality of the CD-Rs are so bad you can see through them."
Far be it from me to defend Limited Run, but I have a bit of an issue with that quote. A lot of optical media is see through its how they work I got a Platinum CDR right now, and i can see my fingers through it. It works fine
Some pressed Xbox 360 games i got are see through. Even most Paramount Blu rays are see through. And thats without holding them to the light, they practically become invisible then.
The point i am trying to make is a see through disc isn't automatically garbage.
A company charging you up the ass for a prettied up CDR however is garbage. Hopefully this wil bite them on the ass
The "video thing" for the controller is the memory card ( VMU) Dreamcasts from other regions shouldn't be a problem with a boot disc The Dreamcast is hilariously easy to spoof and to get to run all sorts of games. Even more so with a GDemu The powercable is just a standard figure 8 and av cables are available on Amazon.
The pricing of the games is pretty fair, I expected them to be twice as expensive. The usual Atari suspects I find off putting though. How many time scan the same old Atari games be trotted out again and again ?
Admittedly I have a soft spot for Sega. But i go where the good games are If there is a game I like and want, I wil get it irregardless what platform it is for.
( Assuming I have said platform )
But I have always had a passing interest in the PC Engine. And it was always way too expensive So this will do just fine for me down the line.
You mean all those other games that are not made by Nintendo but are on their platforms ? Would be a pretty damn small line up of articles, if it was about Nintendo only.
Where ? Cause the article only says 20 games. There is a list of 20 games. And the only Metal Slug screen shot is on the mini arcade, in the background.

Sanyo 3DO indeed got a release
They float around on Evilbay,err Ebay.

It looks like a VCR to me.

@27celsius When has that ever stopped Nintendo ?
They sharp their knives just on principle alone.
Re: A1 Unicorn Will Have "One Of The Best D-Pads" Of Any Handheld, Says ZPG
I got a Hyperkin Supaboy gold and black.
It works for me.
Not too fond of handheld gaming as it is.
Re: Atari Fans Spent $1000 On 50th XP Collection Only To Find Two Of Its Games Are Broken
Nu/zombie Atari considering the proud Atari tradition of being a dumpster fire then.
Re: New Tool Allows N64 Games To Be Played With Ray Tracing, Uncapped Frame Rates And Ultrawide Support
So lets hope sheriff Ted Nindo* ( Nintendo) won't ninja it eh ?
( * wonder who wil get that reference)
Re: Ghosts 'n Goblins-Esque Platformer 'Gladmort' Heading To Neo Geo, Steam, & Dreamcast

All we can do is hope for the best.
Maybe Gladmort does well enough on the Neo Cd for others to take notice.
Re: Limited Run Games Apologises For Shipping 3DO Games On CD-Rs
@GhaleonUnlimited
Ata guess some people don't want to deal with the rigamarole of Ebay, importing from different countries, import duties, 3 months wait time.

Re: 'Evercade Alpha' Listing Hints At New Hardware In 2024
Possibly souped up console hardware, with an dual analog controller, to be better suited to tackle the 32 bit and later games.
Re: Did Mad Catz Really Create "The Worst Video Game Controllers Ever"?
From what I recall of Mad Catz controllers they were either atrocious or serviceable, with nothing in between.
Re: The Cost Of Owning A MiSTer FPGA Is About To Come Down Dramatically
Will this thing be unobtanium though ?
Or more easily available ?

No ! Never !
I just played by the rules and got an import adapter with the few import games i played.
Re: PixelHeart Teases News On Its Ghosts n' Goblins-Esque Neo Geo Game 'Gladmort'
Excellent.
A brand new game for the Neo Geo Frontloader, i recently bought.
Re: Hardware Review: Evercade - Can A 100% Physical Media Console Really Work In 2020?
@PixelMist
I did lose money actually
I lost all my investments when my Wii was wiped out.
Kinda soured me on Nintendo for a while.
Re: Hardware Review: Evercade - Can A 100% Physical Media Console Really Work In 2020?
@PixelMist
Yes, kinda.
i played Nosgoth on steam an MMO.
it was abandoned and shut down, and is utterly gone
I lost ALL my VC purchases when my Wii died.
Re: Hardware Review: Evercade - Can A 100% Physical Media Console Really Work In 2020?
@Ajent
Makes too much sense so they wont listen
God forbid Sega has any sense left, or Konami.
Re: Hardware Review: Evercade - Can A 100% Physical Media Console Really Work In 2020?
@TheAwesomeBowser
More like fanboy logic, where everything that is not their chosen one is double plus ungood.
Re: Hardware Review: Evercade - Can A 100% Physical Media Console Really Work In 2020?
@PiXeLSteF
The pricing of the games is pretty fair, I expected them to be twice as expensive.
The usual Atari suspects I find off putting though.
How many time scan the same old Atari games be trotted out again and again ?
And which Atari is this anyway.
Re: Hardware Review: Evercade - Can A 100% Physical Media Console Really Work In 2020?
@Yogsoggoth
Wouldn't that comparison just be to show the relative size ?
Most on here have an NX we know how big it is.
And this is a very niche product, I doubt it wil sell tens of millions units as well.
But it could very well do well for itself.
Re: Hardware Review: Evercade - Can A 100% Physical Media Console Really Work In 2020?
Its all about the software and the nostalgia.
The market no doubt is there.
I most likely wont be picking it up, got enough to be getting on with
Dug out my Dreamcast recently.

Fanboyism.
Since when does fanboyism make sense ?
Beyond: "what i support is good, anything else is ugly and double plus ungood".
Re: Hardware Review: PC Engine Mini - Still An Acquired Taste, Even After 30 Years
With all this corona going on, I wont be getting it for a while.
Oh well, not as if i don't have a huge backlog anyway.

Re: Book Review: Sega Arcade: Pop-Up History - A Gloriously Decadent Tribute To A Golden Age
@nmanifold
Totally.
There was some hope after the release of Virtua Racing.
But it's been dire ever since.
Re: Book Review: Sega Arcade: Pop-Up History - A Gloriously Decadent Tribute To A Golden Age
@grewupnintendo
Or anything other then the usual suspects.
I doubt we wil ever get Model 2, Saturn or Dreamcast games.
Re: Book Review: Sega Arcade: Pop-Up History - A Gloriously Decadent Tribute To A Golden Age
I'd rather Sega explores their arcade history by releasing more of their 90's arcade games on modern systems.
Re: Arcade1Up Is Reviving A Sega Classic That Has Never Been Seen Outside Of Arcades

That too tenuous a connection?

That's actually a lot less then I expected.
I expected $499 and up.

So how much does that thing cost exactly ?
Re: Feature: A Tribute To Jason Brookes
The least we can do is spare him a thought.
And remember how fragile and transient we all are.
52 is way too young.
Re: Feature: Jason Brookes Talks Super Famicom, Import Gaming And Super Play
N64 Magazine was also awesome.
Wish I stil had mine .
Re: Feature: Jason Brookes Talks Super Famicom, Import Gaming And Super Play
..Well damn 52 is way too young.
I still have a few issues of Super Play lying around should reread them in remembrance of Brookes at the very least.
Video gaming magazines were so much more fun, for lack of a better word, back then.
They had so much more personality.
Re: Hardware Review: SNK Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro - Better Than The Capcom Home Arcade?
@jobvd
Why should I have to check Youtube ?
It's not in the article not in the screenshots or on the box.
There is nowhere any mention of Metal Slug.
Unless you mean it's been hacked already.

Well it's cool and all and a huge improvement but they should have released this from the get go instead of all those mini arcade's
Re: Hardware Review: Capcom Home Arcade Is The Most Ludicrous Micro-Console Yet, And We're In Love

Wait death stranding launches today ?
..huh
I'd rather have the Capcom logo with an arcade machine in it anyway.
