Re: Skunkape Would "Love" To Remaster Tales Of Monkey Island & Other Telltale Games

@slider1983 my frustration lies with the fact that you see the art direction as a failing on the development side, to assume it needs "fixing," because of your own personal disdain.

I'm only defensive because I really enjoyed Return and what it had to say and the art direction was a major factor in that. I don't think it's perfect or above criticism, but I can't change how I personally felt. And after two years of seeing a large amount of people online continue to dog on it without much challenge - especially given the ridiculously vitriolic response upon its reveal - I can't really let it slide. You don't have to have to like it. I'm fine if you don't honestly, but I don't think you have to be like this either.

That's all the time I'm going to give this.

@retrogamer1 a weak explanation is still an explanation, and given the controversy around Bosco's original actor, I didn't blame them for not wanting to open that up any further. There isn't really a way for them to appease everyone; it's a damned if they do, damned if they don't situation.

Personally speaking, I don't think this whole thing is worth bringing up almost four years Season 1's rerelease. It just keeps going in circles with no real point of agreement and I think there are more better examples of pointless remaster/remake revisionism worth discussing.

If you disagree that's fine, it's no skin off my back, but that's all I have to say on the subject. You do you.

Great interview for a great set of remasters. I'm not the biggest fan of remakes as of late but Skunkape has really set the standard for how to update old classics for the modern day, making changes that actually add to the experience and even offering the originals as a nice win for games preservation. There's the odd pedantic jerk still kvetching over the 10 outdated jokes cut out from season 1, but in the grand scheme of things, that remaster as well the other two are the definitive way to experience Sam & Max's best adventures.
