Re: Playdate Pre-Order Date Is Confirmed, Shipping Late This Year

I have to get this, Teenage Engineering is awesome and getting 24 games for it plus the stuff from the user community this should be a lot of fun. I'll bet because of the low res and non-backlit screen the battery on this thing should be really nice, and as a long time gamer I'm always looking for new ways to play and that crank should be a fun new thing to play with. I also love that it's got no analog joystick or a bunch of buttons and is very low res. It looks like something that would have existed when I was a kid, but the modern cpu and crank and wifi ensure that it will play unlike anything I've played before, or at least the potential is there.

Re: Random: What Happens When You Remove Charles Barkley From His Own Video Game?

@Muddy_4_Ever I was looking forward to The Magical Realms of Tír na nÓg: Escape from Necron 7 – Revenge of Cuchulainn: The Official Game of the Movie – Chapter 2 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa for a long time and was bummed out nothing ever came of it. But there's a pretty cool demo/alpha for it and I guess all the source code is available as well, guess they gave up on it after it being too overly ambitious. YOu can try it out here https://talesofgames.itch.io/barkley-2/devlog/262720/the-future-of-barkley-2

Re: Intellivision's Amico Is Shaping Up To Be The Most 'Nintendo' Non-Nintendo System Ever

I guess it's kind of interesting, but I don't really see the catch here. It seems like they're just trying to sell it based on name recognition, but in my opinion video games didn't really get good until the 8-bit generation with the NES and Master System. The Play Date is the only upcoming console, besides the Nintendos that really interests me, most of this other stuff I feel like has already been done on previous consoles, and better.

Re: Atari Comes Under Fire For Seemingly Knowing Very Little About Its Crowdfunded VCS Console

This is like the stupidest thing ever. As a kid who grew up in the 80's and had a 2600 and a 5200 at the time and it was always crap. Most Atari games have very little content, and most you get bored of after 5 minutes. The only thing cool about the Atari was the paddle controller, because you got good accuracy, and it was something different, but, that's not even included here.

If it was the old Atari, or the new Atari, it really shouldn't make any difference to anybody. Those games didn't age well when they were released, I don't know what anybody is expecting now.
