Re: The US Copyright Office Doesn't Want To Give You Access To Video Game History

Well I mean, it's part of the entertainment industry, so it makes sense to me. They're selling products to consumers to make money. They don't want you downloading TV or movies, either. Piracy doesn't bother me, I just choose to buy everything out of convenience. Click button, game downloads and plays as intended on idiot proof hardware that requires one button press to launch. Easy for a dummy like me!

Re: Poll: Handheld Or TV - How Do You Play Retro Games?

Primarily handheld for me via Switch's NSO and original hardware. I will say that it is exceedingly rare for me to see Game Boys and DSes out in the wild; I've seen people playing a DS three or four times over the past few years and I've never seen a Game Boy out there. I once played my Game Boy on the bus during a commute and got heckled for it.

They most certainly are for me! You see, the Game Boy is my favourite system of all time. It was the first console that was truly mine and I could play whenever I wanted. As opposed to being kicked off the TV when dad got home from work. So I'm pretty tickled to see those games added to NSO.

I'm not like super into collecting but I have a nice little Game Boy collection and I play those carts on Game Boy hardware. Usually my GBA SP for the lit screen but occasionally my Pocket or Color if I'm feeling extra nostalgic. The closest I get to emulation is NSO/VC. I have a mental preoccupation with my games being played in an official capacity. Downloading ROMs and using emulators just feels wrong to me, and I just can't get into a game if it's played in this manner.
