Kinda hard to feel "sorry" for anyone in regards to this whole ordeal.
Having Tommy run his mouth about stuff he knew nothing about for as long as he did was never a great PR choice, as entertaining and braindead as it was. The weird cult of "believers" that bought into his nonsense was equally as perplexing and wild, too.
I guess I just hope some people got their money back long before this point.
I remember almost pre-ordering one when it was very first announced and I'm glad I never did. I still want it to come out, and I want it to be great, but after all this I'm perfectly willing to wait as long as it takes and get one when they are readily available (if ever) and if they are indeed worth it.
@Yorumi Yup. It's pretty crazy. I'm SO glad I was at least a little ahead of the curve on this one. I've got some pretty good titles from years back and never really broke the bank on any of them (well, maybe a few). It's kinda insane to see what some of them go for these days.
I haven't bought any of their other products but this is one I'll be pre-ordering. I treasure my turbo duo and live in fear that it will one day crap out on me, so this is going to be awesome. I've built up a pretty good collection over the years and want to play them for even more years to come.
I was gonna treat myself, but the shipping to Canada for the base unit and one module was absurdly high and seemingly random, so I held off.
Can see myself getting one eventually, perhaps from a Canadian supplier in the future. Just looks like a great way to manage and play my retro collection.
@subpopz What you were doing on your PC years ago is kind of irrelevant, though. Like you said, it's new to a box like this. Also, i guess in a way I am the target for this. The idea of having a more modern way to play my old games is appealing. Yes, I am aware it is emulation, but if I can hook it up to a modern TV and pop in all my turbo CD and PC engine CD games while I keep my turbo duo in the spare room on the old CRT, then it is yet another convenient way to play and manage my games, and I think that's all it needs to be. And if you are saying this thing is going to support everdrives, it isn't They have confirmed that.
@SmaMan Some of that is certainly fair, which is exactly why I bailed out in their first round of preorders last year. At that point they'd showed next to nothing and I wasn't on board. They've gotten a lot more transparent at least. They have some way to go, certainly, but the absolute disdain and conspiracy posts from some people (not you and not here necessarily) are a bit much. Like I said, I'm very intrigued and always waiting to see more.
Talk of this thing usually boils down to someone saying "just get a raspberry pi!" because they don't understand the appeal of something like this at all, but I do and I'm very intrigued. If they can deliver (everything sounds promising so far) it would be a pretty great way to keep my retro collection alive and well.

Re: Feature: More Than Four Years Of Painful Waiting Later, We've Finally Got Paprium - But Is It Any Good?
I still haven't played my copy because I no longer have a Genesis and don't really care to track one down at the moment.
