@Daniel36 The tariffs are illegal because, according to the Constitution, Congress has the power of the purse and has oversight of the financial deadline of the government. Implementing them through executive order is illegal. With one party controlling all the branches, they could do this the proper way. The Canadian response is designed to hurt red states and the stock market is taking. Trump is really wrecking our economy.

@dmg361 Tariffs disproportionately affect people with lower incomes. That's why the United States uses a progressive tax system. It comes down to paying 25% more for goods or be taxed at a rate between 10 and 37%. I'm in the 22% bracket for 2025 so it's a wash for me. If you earn less, it could be difficult.

And pointing out the president is a convicted felon is truth, not a smear.

@Willonious The Canadian and Mexican governments did not actually capitulate. They agreed to do what they promised to the Biden administration in December. I also wouldn't consider Trump a master negotiator. He's bankrupted multiple companies and often refuses to pay his contractors. He's a fraudster with 34 convictions to prove it

@Gillig Just to play devil's advocate, he did modernize the board design lower production cost after Terasic saw the increased interest and raised their price significantly. He's also focused on simplifying the process of getting a Mister up and running. People find that part of the give really unnerving. His company is adding competition which, in theory, should lower prices across the board. Only time will tell.

@SlangWon I don't disagree. As a long time comic book collector, I've faced the art/artist debate constantly. It's impossible to answer because every aspect of our live feeds into every other. Social media really took a sledgehammer to privacy and opened up society to a level of discourse we weren't ready to experience.

@SlangWon But if one's tolerance is funding another's attack on people's fundamental rights, is that acceptable? It's a complicated issue. If he was just a Trump supporter, that would be one thing. That he's in the tank for the Alt Right bigotry, that makes me pause and contemplate. I was super excited for this device until I learned about Luckey's political activity. As someone married to a woman of color, these facts really concern me and my family.

@DestructoDisk I bought one of those kits and got a defective board. I exchanged it and the second board wouldn't load games. It's so annoying. I ended up getting a refund but I really wanted to love it.

Classic manga does this all of the time because there are tons of examples of creators - Ishinomiri and Tezuka account them - that used black face for diversity and not understanding the racist history. Content warnings allow classic games to be presented as they originally were while being understanding that society has changed. I'm all for it.

It's hard, maybe impossible, to beat 98. It has the best gameplay systems with none of the unnecessarily complex stuff added later.

I've got to call out SD Gundam G Generation Monoieye! It's one of the most fun in that series and is the basis for SD Gundam G Generation DS. The system has a lot of interesting Gundam games on it but none are translated.

Sadly, I'm fighting with Analogue customer service right now. They authorized a return for my Pocket order. They received the return weeks ago and won't refund me. I'm done with them.

This is a sad and fascinating story. I remember being so excited for this game and being crushed when it was pushed back. The wait was worth it, though.

I wouldn't consider it the best GBA fighter though; that honor goes to King of Fighters EX2. That game is amazing and I often wish I could mod a GBA to have 4 face buttons for proper KOF play.
