Good list! Happy to see xenogears, mgs and final fantasy X specifically ranking so well, even better than dragon quest which surprised me, but agree with.
Only shocked about the last of us over ghost of Tsushima... no way on earth!
He's absolutely acting within his right and it's a shame that someone who is sharing his hobby and work for others to enjoy, free of charge, to have to go through such hurdles, threats and name-calling is absolutely unacceptable!
@LowDefAl I know, and that's something lot's of governments can and should implement instead of just pouting around about a free unregulated market. However, it's not perfect in Japan either with a lot of pressure and surely crunch resulting from that as well.
Black widow got the short end of the MCU unfortunately so I'm not surprised the character was snubbed by gaming as well. The movie was delayed so often, you can see that they didn't put much effort into it (though Johannsen and Pugh were fantastic) and then treated it like some sideshow on Disney plus.
As for a platinum adaptation, great studio but it didn't pan out for legend of korra, which should have been an amazing pairing of IP and studio.
It is quite a gap between games, but personally I find the Syphon Filter games hit their stride on the PSP with two fantastic games, that did spy action way better than portable ops... and then peace walker came around 😁
We'll see if it's still going to be the case for Konami in the coming years, but Japanese studios in general are still leagues ahead of the rest of the industry. On top of that they don't callously lay off staff as a first measure to make shareholders happy.
On the one hand happy for the emulation scene as it establishes it's legitimacy and hopefully a more secure future. But to see it on apple, which stands against what open source development represents... oh well. Most people in this world can't afford their shiny products, or take a hit in order to fit in.
Really liked my steam deck, but the constant tinkering, poor power efficiency and clunky form factor had me sell it again in favour of the ayn Odin 2. Yes it doesn't do pc games, but it's just such a breeze to use for emulation and more on a single charge over a long period. The only downside is the tiny, yet beautiful screen in comparison to the oled switch and many others.
Never was fond of the n64 controller, but despite the sticks flimsy look that thing never broke down on me despite hundreds of hours heavy duty GoldenEye usage.
Always enjoy reading time extensions articles. You can tell that actual effort and love is put into these. I wished push square would actually create meaningful articles rather than just recycling (or how they would most likely put it "aggregating") the work of others and putting a rage-baiting spin on it.
As for the spirits within, I've always adored this movie despite it's shortcomings. Perhaps it helped that I haven't played a single FF game when it came to theatres and had no preconceptions. For me the movie resonated emotionally by leaving a thoughtful. melancholic mood that remained long after the credits rolled.
Any full blown modern RPG with a 80s anime style would have my fullest attention. The hoyo games have a nice look but I've always preferred 80s/90s anime over the boring and sterile look we get these days.
I saw the trailer back then and was super excited until I heard it was apple exclusive. Hoped for an android or console version, but that never materialised. It's a shame to have platinums talents go to waste within apples ecosystem.
@ralphdibny absolutely agree, if they'd gotten Hayter for a few lines that would have been such a mindf***ingly amazing moment and the gameplay loop of V is superb.
Hope Konami get themselves together and do the series justice again. Wouldn't mind a ps5 port where they make the entire helicopter landing part skipable and complete that unfinished act with the lord of the flies style liquid snake area.
Sega should absolutely reboot VF, but they need to add some charisma and flair to their characters. I love the gameplay, but VF has always been the blandest bunch of martial arts stereotypes, and I believe that was holding the series back.
1) Redesign Characters 2) stylized or hyperrealistic graphics 3) SP campaign with a story that makes us care for them all (like Mortal Kombat 9 and onward) 4) bulletproof netcode
Oh my goodness, this series is such a vast improvement over the predecessors awful pacing and pretentious monologues (except season 1, that was fantastic)

Of course the agent would want work for his client. Reno is always great, even if not all of his movies are bangers.

Re: Talking Point: Is There Such A Thing As "Bad" Nostalgia?
Every game, good or bad, deserves to be archived and made accessible, either reasonably monetary or public domain.
Does every game deserve nostalgic celebration accompanied by re-releases... doubtful

Re: Review: AYANEO Flip KB - A $900 Nintendo DS-Style Handheld With A Full Keyboard
Don't ayaneo have an actual double screen device announced, where the comparison would apply?
As for this, pay a little more and you could get a Lenovo legion 5 slim with a dedicated RTX 4050-4070 GPU.

Sega is fantastic and was always ahead of it's time. The Sega nomad is practically a Nintendo switch, just decades earlier.

Played everything on this list except for Skyrim. The lack of colour always held me from it but I might give the psvr version a shot eventually.
