This is no apples-to-apples comparison. Back then, you could rent games fairly easily and on the cheap. Today, we download our games, and for PC that's really the ONLY option. In the 90's, production costs were passed on to the consumer, but now, there is absolutely no production cost on the majority of sales.
I consider myself to have played a LOT of SNES games back in the day, yet I only owned a handful. Today, I own closed to 700 PC games across all services, because that is the only way to play them - own them. This is why the pricing is irking.

@Pillowpants These are beat THEM ups, not beat him/her ups.
Re: Best Beat 'Em Ups Of All Time
I believe you should change the title to 2D Beat 'Em Ups, as there are loads of awesome 3D beat 'em ups not here.
Re: Poll: Is Metroid Prime The Best 2D To 3D Transition Of Any Game Series, Ever?
As someone else said, GTA 3 has to be the winner. It basically created modern gaming.
I would like to add that while not affiliated, Dark Souls is an amazing 3D Castlevania game.
Re: Random: You Need To Check Out This Ridiculously Cute N64 Mini-CRT
Imagine trying to play 4 player Goldeneye on that.
