It was partially a showcase, part walkthrough. I remember them talking about how expressive the sprites were while showcasing Edgar. And rafting section while getting confronted by Ultros.
@Sketcz That explains why I never saw it. I don't really read EGM or Gfan
However maybe you can help me out. Ages ago I read a massive article about FF6/FF3 in A EGM, EGM 2 or Gamepro from 1994 Any idea which issue that was ? Or what i'm even talking about ?
THAT is a shame yes. I looked in to Sega Forever when it was new , saw it was the usual suspects again, and ignored it ever since. I thought they killed the entire thing years ago, but apparently not.
That tweet and other things seem to suggest there is something rotten in the kingdom of Sega Europe
It possible it was just a botched marketing mock up
Marketing firms aren't exactly on the ball especially not with consoles in the early days.
The infamous back cover of the NES box comes to mind.
Gee, who didn't see this coming ? Sega Forever was always a low ball, low rent, low effort affair. Dragging out most of the usual corpses around but this time on mobile.
It always reeked of bandwagon jumping and desperation. If Sega cant be bothered to make an effort for it, why should we the consumers ? Because it was free ?
@LadyCharlie I didn't write that mini essay just for the hell of it. I am on @Sketcz 's side here, its the censorship I oppose too, because personally I don't give a toss about how much you can see of Mai's cleavage.
If this slides, what else will slide ? What else is going to be censored ? Where wil the line be drawn ?
They gonna tinker with the graphics and gameplay next ?
Or are they gonna get really dystopian and release a "sanitized"version and charge extra for the "adult" version ?
@LadyCharlie That is not the point. The point is that its nonsensical censorship Ina game where two characters beat the hell out of each other which is un touched and the main Mai sprite is untouched as well.
The censorship is so small it makes you wonder what the point is, it nearly falls under the radar.
But, and this wil sound paranoid, if they are willing to censor this, what else wil they snip and nip and tuck ? What other compromises will there be ?
That is the point, where will the line be drawn ?
( Cause personally I don't care about how much of Mai's cleavage we get to see but i do care about censorship and being silenced )
@KingMike The Amiga was massive in the UK and Germany. Personally ive never so much as seen one, let alone used one. They were a bit before my time. My first console was the Megadrive II.
@Scollurio More or less agree there. I dont really like handheld gaming either the controls are cramped, or the screen is too small. Or impossible to see in the case of the original GBA.
And I just prefer the console experience with screen and controller in hand.
So if they do make a GBA console I'd be interested
( that hyperkin monster doesnt count that thing is just fugly)
@Beetlebum91 I bought Cyberpunk 2077 used recently for the Xbox one. After inserting the game and the xbox copying 441 mb of the contents of the disk it suddenly told me there was an update.
A 60 gig update, that replaced the entire contents of the disk . That sort of thing is absolutely deranged. The disc is nothing more than a dongle.
( i own the gog version of cp2077 i bougth the console version cause it was cheap and wanted to see how it did on last gen console hardware not my ryzen 5 rtx gaming pc)
@Beetlebum91
Until you factor all the predatory DLC and micro transactions in.
It's a lot less great then.
Or that most AAA games are trashfires that need fixing day one, if they ever get fixed.
Yes, Gollum I see you slinking away !
@MetalKingShield
Sega only cares about Sonic and the Megadrive games.
It's like the rest of their legacy doesnt exist anymore.
They have gotten slightly better at it.
But Sega still has a heavy Megadrive bias.
And i am quite frankly really sick of seeing the same 16 bit corpses getting dragged around.
@BulkSlash
I did but it devoured them at a rate of 6 per 6 hours.
That's insane.
Eventually i got myself a power adapter but if you need to do that its not a portable anymore.
Outside of that it was alright.
But the battery issue was a big caveat though.
@Chlocean Because it devoured batteries like nobodies business. The best way to play for any period of time was tethering it to a power outlet negating any and all of its positives.
It could and would devour the price tag of a new game
I had Game Gear back in the day and didn't like it because it devoured batteries at a frightening rate.
Looks like a very unhappy PII pc being forced to run the game. But the massive leaps in quality are obvious. This could actually be happening and not just a proof of concept.

And in my opinion its always cool to see gaming from a perspective that's not the UK or the USA.

The ps 1 had pack in bundles but they came pretty late
There is this
https://consolevariations.com/collectibles/sony-playstation-special-pack-bundle
With a second controller a memory card and Crash 3
and this
https://consolevariations.com/collectibles/sony-playstation-tomb-raider-iv-bundle
With Tombraider 4
No memory card.
as well as
https://consolevariations.com/collectibles/sony-playstation-atlantis-bundle

https://consolevariations.com/collectibles/sony-playstation-spyro-coolboarder-3-bundle

Just not in the USA it seems

It seems to be mostly a Europe thing.

Which explains why the 3D pad has a break away cable
An article about prototype DC controllers

Honestly, I never noticed the game had frame rate issues.

It's an uh quirky beat em up with an unusual button lay out ( up is not jump its mapped to a button)
Dunno how its reputation is but I always liked it.

At least Gog is willing to show the rest of the industry that it can be done and hopefully others will follow there example.
