Got to be honest though, unless people who have stacks of the magazine start coming forward or listing them on Ebay, collecting let alone completing, CTW is going to be a near impossible proposition.
It also doesn't help that there is almost no information about CTW out there.
Here is hoping that won't be the case. But this could take years if not decades.
@no_donatello I mostly struggle with the fiddly grid based controls. They usually get me to give up in frustration. And the modern controls for the remaster are ....special in a bad way.
Well that's good news, and makes one hopefully for the longevity of the Evercade. And makes retro seem more viable to other gamers and companies. Hopefully anyway. Even if its just a drop in the ocean of mainstream gaming.
@Steel76 Eventually everything will fail, die or break down. Just enjoy things while you can.
I have a harder time switching between Nintendo and Xbox controllers, because the function of the buttons are reversed. I've been playing ASM on the Wii U recently and my muscle memory used to the Xbox layout keeps tripping me up.
Tonka is such a well known brand that Hasbro would have to be totally divorced from anything remotely connected to reality to scupper the brand.
Even with the name of the Gobots IP there is scrutiny. The original toyline was named GoBots. The Hasbrow owned version is named Go-Bots. The hyphen is important.
Neither was released in Europe only the USA and Japan.

It's possible that Hasbro needs to license designs from Bandai, though the designs we know are from the Gobots cartoon. ( which has an equally twisted ownership legacy. Current owners are WB cause they bought up Hanna-Barbera )
But there is a Go-Bots comic using some cartoon designs, but primarily toy designs which Hasbro presumably signed off on. https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Go-Bots_(comic)
It's possible a deal was either made or Bandai let it slide , because of the 35th anniversary of the toys/Gobots brand.
And a 2002 toyline and cartoon series aimed at preschoolers
https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers:Go-Bots(franchise)
From what I gather Hasbro does very little with the GoBots IP, and when they do prefer to keep it as far away from Bandai and MachineRobo as possible if they can.
It's possible not even Hasbro know how much GoBots material they own
Long story short : The GoBots history and ownership are a bloody mess.
And finally Tonka purchased Kenner in 1987, 4 years later both were purchased by Hasbro in 1991.
Kenner got absorbed in to Hasbroby 2000, Tonka, or at least the Tonka brand is still in use.
Hope i didn't bore you too much with this info dump.

We did . Off sorts Other then the Beast Wars beat em ups on the ps1 and N64, which are so so . But the game I am referring to is ...ahem Duel Fight Transformers Beast Wars: Beast Warriors' Strongest Decisive Battle On the Game Boy Color. You can find info about it here. https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Duel_Fight_Transformers_Beast_Wars:_Beast_Warriors%27_Strongest_Decisive_Battle
Gobots vs Transformers is a bit of a issue, while Hasbro owns the Gobots name, they do not own the toy designs or moulds Machine Robo is still 100% owned by Bandai.
Hasbro and Takara seem unable or unwilling to do much with the IP. Hasbro got the Gobotsip at the very least because they purchased Tonka in the early 90's It is honestly way too complicated to go in to here but you may find this tf wiki article interesting. https://tfwiki.net/wiki/GoBots

Re: Evercade Alpha Is A Bartop Arcade System Packed With Capcom Games
@IceClimbersMain
I wil be preordering but that's because i am already in the Evercade ecosystem.
Thankfully the games are readily available and not very expensive
For me this is a kind of a no brainer.
Ive been eying that Neo Geo tabletop for a while.
And this is the next best thing.
Also hoping Blaze can rope SNK in.
Re: The Race Is On To Save A Valuable Resource Of Video Game History
@Sketcz
It could happen.
All you need to be under way is if somebody has and offers a chunk of CTW for sale in a joblot.
I tried to reach out to Stuart Campbell to ask him with that very same idea.
Unfortunately he seems to have scrubbed himself from the internet.
His contact page and forum page both return 404 errors.
And he hasn't been active on his twitter in 4 years.

Pictionairy nes !
I know that one and several others on the list too.
Shame they dropped out of the industry in 1995.
And that Pictionary theme goes harder then it has any right to do.
Re: WATA-Graded NES Star Wars Prototype Released From Its Plastic Tomb

I just ripped off the wrappings of two brand new sealed Wii U games.
Mario Tennis And Zelda.

Hammers yes !!!
This is what we do with graded garbage
Wata is nothing but a scam to upcharge for games and the like
Games are meant to played.
Comics are meant to be read.
Movies are mean to be watched.
Edit: removed the second this.

Re: Blaze Confirms One Million Evercade Cartridge Milestone, Ex-Eidos Boss Joins As Chairman
@no_donatello
Like convince Capcom to continue supporting the Evercade beyond the XP handheld.
And while I am no fan of ps1 Tomb Raider ( fiddley controls ) if its successful it could pave the way for more 32 bit games and big names.
Re: Blaze Confirms One Million Evercade Cartridge Milestone, Ex-Eidos Boss Joins As Chairman

I don't play my Evercade that much.
I think i like the idea of it much more than the actual machine it self.
Or at least playing on it.

They are generally cheaper and the DC will play anything if you got a boot disc
Re: This Dreamcast PSU Is The Only One You'll Ever Need, But It Costs As Much As The Console Itself

Probably not.
The noisiest parts in the DC are its fan and optical drive.
And the optical drive was noisy even back when it was new.

These attempts to generate hype always fall flat for me.

Konami The EA of Japan these days.
