If Hamster did shop wide sales id buy them up by the armload.

compilations/bundles might be even better!

I agree, I would totally raid them at a discount. They do have a slow drip of sales though for Arcade Archives and Neo Geo. You really have to pounce on them.

Hamster also did both Taito Milestones collections, with more in the works.

And there's a Samurai Shodown Neo Geo Collection that goes on sale once every year. That's a great deal if you're into '90s fighters.

Good for him, there's no way anyone in here will sells the game at that price when the true price is waay more than that, if I were him, I'll also cancel the f out that ebay listing. It's not scummy, it's "not a freaking idiot" to cancel that ebay listing lol.

Imagine putting your house up for sale for $200,000. A buyer immediately ends up on your doorstep with $200,000 in cash.

You quickly realize houses are actually going for $1 million in your neighbourhood...

I guess everyone on here would just honour the original listing...right guys? It would be the honourable thing to do. And the incredibly stupid thing.

There is a (new to me) eBay knockoff website with incessant TV ads like: "I bought this mountain bike for only $11" and "I bought this PS5 for only 25 cents!"

When I see those ads I think "Wow, that sounds like a great website to go to when you want to get ripped off selling your stuff when you made a simple mistake on your listing."

When I buy something on eBay, it's to get something not available in stores that's not MUCH over list price; I'm not looking to ripoff unsuspecting sellers.

Re: We Never Got A Good Altered Beast 2, So A Fan Is Making One

MontyCircus

One day my friend called me up and said: "I got a Sega Genesis!"
I got over there as fast as my BMX bike would take me.
It came with "Altered Beast" of course. We had all played it in the arcade, and our jaws were all on the floor at the huge sprites: "It's just like the arcade!!!"

It's only once the Internet came along that I "found out" this game is crap. It was certainly visually astounding at the time compared to NES graphics.

I'm always interested in people "beating the game". That's how it was when I grew up. You needed that hi-score. Measuring yourself against the game itself. "King of Kong" was hugely entertaining.

I get nothing out of player vs. player esports. Who cares if "Team Purple" from Pittsburgh beats "Team Orange" from Chicago?

@KoopaTheGamer

So if I said to you: "Would you like to see Muhammad Ali's Olympic gold medal, Bobby Charlton's World Cup winner's medal, Marlon Brando's "Godfather" Oscar, Albert Einstein's Nobel Prize?

You wouldn't want a peek? Hold it in your hand? Give a fake acceptance speech?

Anyway, it would be fun if whenever someone mentions the BAFTAs, to say "I have one of those you know..."

"I don’t think the quality of the graphics determines how fun a game is. It’s all about the gameplay system."

I still play 40 year old games.

I just can't believe it every time I read someone say: "I don't play indie games, I only play AAA". You hear it all the time, along with 4K this and 8K that and 60fps or 120fps. It's madness.

I have a friend of mine that only watches blockbuster budget movies. Won't even consider seeing an independent film, even if it's a crowd-pleaser.

It's just a strange mindset.

art of fighting 3... "didn't go well??"

A while ago I googled for lists of the best Neo Geo games (I have no friends 😎). I looked for ranked lists at least 25 games long. I ended up finding 7 qualifying lists with 132 unique games and a total of 410 separate entries.

Art of Fighting 3: The Path of the Warrior ended up the #28 best NeoGeo game, and the 9th best NeoGeo fighting game.

Atari's 1978 arcade coin-op Fire Truck

I was very young, but it was a 2-player game on a black and white screen. One person sat down in front and their wheel controlled the steering of the fire truck. Another person stood behind the seated player and controlled the back of the truck, the "ladder" part. It was soooo cool!

I knew about the BattleTech centers, I don't know if it was in a magazine or what. But I never got to see one. The idea fascinated the hell out of me.

To plug the funding gap, the firms took on several side contracts, such as making laser tag venues and working with Jeep to create driving simulators for the Detroit Auto Show. "We built Jeep cockpits using the actual Jeep steering and gearshifts and everything, so that was a fun project," says Weisman.

I ABSOLUTELY stood in line for that Jeep simulator at the Detroit Auto show. If you've never been, it's like spending your entire day at a car dealership. So any entertainment is welcome! I remember driving over logs or something, and it felt like running over bumps, etc.

1979 - No way Speed Freak is better than Asteroids or Galaxian.
1986 - I think Metroid runs Dragon Quest / Dragon Warrior close.
1989 - Super Mario Bros. 3 is better than SimCity.
1990 - Final Fantasy is better than The Secret of Monkey Island.
1992 - Hard to keep The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past off the list, though I was amazed by Wolfenstein 3D.
1995 - Chrono Trigger is better than Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest.

Re: Review: 'First-Person Shooter' Is An Uneven Yet Fascinating Trip Through FPS History

MontyCircus

My friends and I were obsessed with Wolfenstein 3D, we actually hacked into our high school computer system to access it from one of our teacher's accounts. I would secretly play it from my computer at the back corner of the room in keyboarding class (I guess kids don't need that anymore).

Not long after that, I was lamenting that the video game industry was so dominated by FPS games, and I avoided them in favour of other genres. But now I'm happy to go back and discover those old classics.

Looking forward to the article that announces where this ends up available for streaming.
