Why not just copy the motherboard , change it a bit not to have a problem with patents , use modern parts , use another shell ( again patents ) and make money ? Imagine how much would Nintendo or Sega make on revisited GB , NES , SNES , MEGADRIVE etc ... ( and far less problems for them with patents ) ...
