Re: Best Gran Turismo Games, Ranked By You

Gt1 blew my then 16 year old mind. It was the only game I had when I got my first playstation and I sunk so many hours into that game! Also, playing a racing game with cars I could then go out and see driving around my city and into/out of old folks’ homes (damn demio!!!) was just awesome

Re: Talking Point: Are Video Games Linked To Physical Places In Your Memory?

Slinkeepie

Cheers for the article! I have 3 vivid game/location match-ups from my childhood, playing frogger on my atari 2600 back in my childhood home, playing asterix on sega master system at my friends sleepout and super mario land on my then brand new gameboy pocket at my favourite place in the world, a beach at the top of the south island of New Zealand called Pohara. Everytime i play 1 of those 3, my mind is transported back to those places. Good, good times!

Playing some more Master System this weekend and also dusting off my GBA for some castlevania because I felt the need. I’ll also be playing some SNES/Mega Drive on my switch while I’m away from home receiving dialysis, that switch has been my trusted buddy during these times! Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Latest Analogue Pocket Update Brings A Killer Feature

I wish that I could get an Analogue Pocket here in NZ. If I was to get one from Analogues web store, I would pay US$220 with US$90 for shipping. All up thats about NZD$550 plus the wait time until it’s sent. I bought an oled switch here for NZD$600 and the store threw in mario kart 8! First world problems I know but man I want one!

Re: Best PS2 Games - 20 PlayStation 2 Classics You Need To Play

Slinkeepie

I remeber the hype that 19 year old me had when I walked out the games store with a ps2 under my arm. Good times. I would have (very) late night sessions playing GTA3 and Gran Turismo 3 either during or after my studies. I also enjoyed games like FIFA, Tiger Woods,Formula 1 and WRC. Most of those games peaked on the ps2 generation when it came to gameplay enjoyment IMO, even if they were presented in a “I’m still a kids game in an adults’ body kind of way.

@Gamecuber Here in NZ we only really got the sms2 with alex kidd built in as the one with sonic built in was only available real late in the sms lifespan/midway megadrive lifespan. So the “Sonic version” is quite rare here. I have 2 sms’s, both with alex kidd, and my library of games is around 50, all from when i was younger right up until now where I’ll purchase carts if I see them. It’s quite an under-rated console imo and I’m hoping that Nintendo bring out a sms app for their online retro games.

Re: The Making Of: HeroQuest - When Tabletop Gaming Went Mainstream

Slinkeepie

Excellent article thank you! I got this at release here in NZ when i was all of 8 years old and have loved it since. My original copy went the way of the 5200 but i picked up an as new copy with kellers’ keep 8 or so years ago. It is still mint and I still play it now with my son (12). To me it is timeless and a perfect introduction to the world of table-top fantasy gaming.

I’ve been on a master system trip of late, all on my original master system 2. I’ve got 100% completion on alex kidd in miracle world down to 34 mins with $3700 and 70000 points. Also 100% sonic the hedgehog (probably one of my fave sonic games) done in 44 mins. Also a bit of bomber raid and shinobi thrown in. Cheers!
