Is it possible to rip image files directly from the PS2 to the memory card using these? Or is the only way to manually transfer them onto the SD card via a computer?
If you're talking about the figures from the video in the video, they're not part of the game; they are toys you could win in Japanese claw machines around 2010. Although the Ness one is an Amiibo. And there's also a green bell pepper.
If it makes you feel any better, the person didn't learn all of game development in 5 months, they specifically learned how to make homebrew for the Game Boy in five months. I'm sure they had extensive experience as a programmer before taking this on. If you're motivated to do game dev but lack the technical skills, then I would definitely look into GB Studio which simplifies the coding experience. You'll still be learning the fundamentals of programming, just by using a graphical interface rather than writing code. I'd also recommend going into it with a specific idea in mind, like a simple platformer game you'd like to make, rather than the abstract idea of "learning game dev". You'll find the path to learning to be much clearer and more rewarding.
nah. If you are supporting this pointless product then you are indirectly supporting Donald Trump, and it's important to enlighten those who might not be aware of that fact. It's one thing to be a simple(ton) supporter of Trump, but Palmer is way beyond that.
That's just because it has lost all meaning at this point. Most games that claim to be "roguelike/lite" have literally nothing in common with Rogue except maybe they might randomly generated levels. If you have a game where you have to start at the beginning each time ("permadeath"), you're now a roguelike. Every NES game has now retroactively become a roguelike.
Thanks for your insight. I love my Playdate and really want it to succeed. I haven't touched it much for well over a year since there wasn't a whole lot going on back then, so I've been happy to go through the catalog and catch up. Coincidentally, I follow @vxcl on Twitter, so I've seen your games on my timeline. And I may have just bought a couple of them
Really makes me want to revisit the game I worked on for Playjam 2... maybe one day.
This game is everything that I want from a Playdate game. Specifically gameplay that actually utilizes the crank that doesn't feel tacked on, and also isn't a simple mini/arcade game. It's surprisingly (and to me, upsettingly) one of the very few games that are like this, so I'm really hoping this paves the way for more.
@Blast16 Appreciate it, I hope so too. I genuinely love the Polymega console for what it is. It's just a massive shame that everything surrounding it has been and continues to be such a mess.
Meanwhile my Polymega that I was fortunate to get last year bricked a few months ago and it's impossible to get anyone to respond to my messages/emails to customer support.

I figured as much. As neat as this is, I'll stick with my 20+ year old HDD and HD Loader.

More than anyone cares about anything you've ever done, that's for sure.
This is an incredible achievement. Now it's time to do it all blindfolded and using a DDR pad.

Someone asked them about the dock very recently and it seems like it's on indefinite hold. Which is a shame because I definitely was going to buy one.

Very minor correction but 52 Toys is a Chinese company.

Interesting. I'm assuming this is also why the new NGPC core doesn't have save states, which was a huge bummer to me when I found out.
