Many people forget too that the DS got many older folk to buy DS’ with the touch generation line. My parents (non gamers) ended up both getting systems and even duplicates of their favorite games. They’d still play them to this day if they could. It scratched that itch that mobile games just can’t got them.
I foresee their next hardware being much smaller, and more of streaming device. Probably still able to download some games. But much smaller than even the Series S.
@Sketcz No, sorry, mine are all the US versions that are on the wiki. I guess I meant I had 4 of the screens for Zelda 1, and 5 for Zelda 2 (and 3 of the sticker/game tip cards!).
I have quite a few of these cards. I just went through them, and unfortunately I don’t have any scratched ones that I kept. I tried the isopropyl alcohol and q-tip but couldn’t get to the symbol. It seems to be better at taking the ink off the card than the scratchy part.
I point out this time frequently as when things dipped for me, as a gamer, too, so it’s interesting to see developers comment on why that is.
Another part of the puzzle, I believe, is with gaming systems not really having to worry as much about limitations. It seems like the limitations of the classic systems made the developers breathe creativity into their work.
I don’t play much for schmups-but Truxton was one of the first games I had on the Genesis! I’d love to play it again! If this comes to console I’m sold…or I may need to actually playing games on PC
I think this is cool, and am intrigued. The Remix hardware, however, is said to allow cartridge games to be played/added, though on the picture provided it appears to only have a disc drive?
6 probably deserves top honors, though it didn’t have the cultural impact of 7. 8 is also too low for my tastes, which depending on the day I like even more than 6. of course, everyone is gonna have their own ranking though.

Re: Interview: "I Have Fond Memories Of Rogue Toilets" - Donut Dodo's Creator Reveals His Biggest Retro Influences
I wasn’t aware this was a 1-person studio. Donut Dodo is amazing! I can’t recommend this one enough!
Re: 'Goliath Depot' Is Bringing Its Door-Slamming Arcade Mayhem To Switch
Based on Flynn’s work on Donut Dojo alone, this will be an immediate purchase for me.

Re: Random: Did You Own This Bizarre Anti-Smoking Game For DS?
Never owned it, but I remember seeing it in the store upon release.
Re: This Video Game Magazine Trolled A Final Fantasy VIII Hater For Two Years
I would argue that 8 was better than 7, and I also love this type of pettiness

Re: Gaming's Best 'Leftfield' Control Interfaces, Ranked
Great list…though I’d personally switch #2 and #3. Everyone will have their own ranking, of course, but this is great!
Re: Cash Cow DX Is Another Promising Arcade Throwback From Donut Dodo Devs
Donut Dodo was one of my most played games of ‘22! It’s really an amazing game! I’m excited for this, though hopefully it comes to console as well.

Re: I've Just Resurrected This Zelda Scratch Card Game From 1989
Oh, I do have 4 different screens is Zelda, and 5 of the sequel (and some duplicates). Let me know if you find a solution I’d be glad to help!

Re: Sega's Shadow Dancer Might Be Getting A New Port For The Amiga
I would argue Shadow Dancer is better than Revenge of Shinobi and Shinobi III. Much better.
Re: Best Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Games Of All Time
Glad to see Shadow Dancer here! It’s my favorite Genesis game-and much better than the other Shinobi games imho.
I’d also put Ghostbusters on the list-but that’s just me!
Re: Stray Children Is A Brand New RPG From Onion Games For Nintendo Switch
I’m intrigued by the screen shots…and I liked Moon. Will keep this on the radar.
Re: Murtop Is A New Dig Dug & Bomberman Inspired Arcade Game, Out May 18th
Yes! They had me at the concept…but was only cemented in by staying it’s produced by Flynn’s Arcade. I look forward to this!
I also recommend any fans of the retro arcade titles to try an earlier release of theirs: Donut Dodo!
Re: Henk Rogers And Alexey Pajitnov Pick Their Favourite Versions Of Tetris
I’d probably choose Tetris 99 as my favorite, though Tetris DS is a close second.
Also, it’sa great time to be a Tetris fan. Between Tetris 99, Tetris Connected, and PuyoPuyo Tetris, you really can’t go wrong.

Re: Best JRPGs Of All Time
@Bomberman64 Oh, duh. Yes I forgot that apparently Thanks.
Re: Best JRPGs Of All Time
Great list! Personally I’d put FF8 over 7, and DQ11 over 8…though I understand I may be in the minority here. Also I get the cultural impact of FF7.

Re: "Sonic Didn't Launch The Genesis, Joe Montana Did"
The original Joe Montana Football on the Genesis is my favorite sports game of all time. I still go back to play regularly!
Re: Flashback: Remembering The Glory Days Of Wii-Exclusive Ports
I liked Dead Rising CTYD more than the original. It was a fun port. Part of the problem for me in the original was the tiny text.

Pretty solid list, though personally I’d put Twin Snakes quite a bit higher on the list.

This looks interesting...I’m doubtful that it’ll go over, but I may pick one up.
