Re: Does Your SNES Have A Ticking Time Bomb Inside?

Azuris

Hmm has anyone faced that issue?
There are some components on the Snes you can buy cheaply and are obvious to fail, as its the same stuff that other electronica also have to deal.
But the cpu itself is new to me, for any system.

Gladly fpga is a thing nowadays, be it with Analogue, Mister or something else we will get in the Future.
And Emulation on Everything haha

Re: The Making Of: Noctis, The 'No Man's Sky' Forerunner Whose Creator Retreated From The World

Azuris

Depression can be a huge Driver for Creativity, as dumb as it sounds.
As it is a very deep Emotion, it leads to express this in some Way and also brings on People to new Stuff, as the Mind wants to proceed from its current State.

The Voyage through an empty Space could be one of the Expressions, meanwhile all the Code is learned by the Hunger to proceed.
Could be, not must be.

But from what i hear about the Game, could be worth a Try.

Re: The Making Of: Croc, 3D Platforming's Unsung Hero

Azuris

I've played Croc back than on PC at my Cousins House a bit.
Stylewise it was really nice, Controls a bit to clunky, compared to 2D Jump and Runs.

A few Months ago i threw it on my Mister and played the Playstation Version for a While.

The Game is something like a 70/100, as i am not through yet, it also could go up to a 75/100.

Compared to Mario 64 it is clearly not as good, but compared to other Games of its Time, it is, well, good.

Also being older, if someone is in the Mood for a Jump and Run, but doesn't want to waste as much Time in a Game as Banjo or DK64, i would clearly recommend something as Croc.

For me as someone that hasn't played Banjo back then, the Game is not different as Croc to me.

Re: Best Game Boy Games Of All Time

Azuris

Change Parodius with Gradius!

Also, Turok 2 has a damn great Soundtrack, has some C64 Vibe to it.
Gameplay is also good, only some pixel perfect Jumps are bad and the first Level isn't very representative for the whole Game.
I would say it is overall much better than the Castlevania Games.

If you want a Puzzle Game beside of Tetris, Yoshi's Cookies!

Re: The Making Of: Mario Is Missing, The Plumber's Oddest Adventure

Azuris

@Daniel36
Guess it is like that because there is not so much going on in Mario is Missing, so youn can dedicate more Sprites to the Character, as most of the Stuff is just Background.
As it is also slower, those little other Sprites that appear don't cause Flickering.
Meanwhile in Super Mario World there is much more going on, CPU has to do more and more moving Sprites are on the Screen.
All this Stuff wants also Space on the Module.
Playabilitywise it is sometimes also better to have clear Animations, so the Player knows fast what he sees on the Screen.

Re: Flashback: How South Park Forced A Tiger Woods 99 Recall

Azuris

@Poodlestargenerica

I remember that some official Releases looked like someone burned it at Home, as you could see the burned Part on the Backside of the CD.
I can only guess that some Factories didn't fill all the blank Space with "Nothing" to make it look completly even, so that some Companies did throw in Files to fill the CD up to the Edge with 650/700 mb.

Re: Building The Ultimate Sega Dreamcast

Azuris

Ha, i upgraded "mine" last Week, but i had no Idea that it was it's Anniversary.
What a Coincidence.
But i was a bit of naive, have a Japanese VA0 and it seems it doesn't work with the GDemu because it puts out 5 Volt instead of 3.3 as the 3.3.
So i recommend the Mode, as it is compatible to both.
Btw. some of the Replicas of the GDemu come with an Regulator that should turn it down to 3.3 Volt, but i am to afraid of grilling the Console... so i bought a new one from Ebay ...

But it is really easy to set up, i also recommend the Clean Power PSU, a working Dreamcast over USB, crazy

Re: There Are Some Neat Retro Deals In Strictly Limited's Black Friday Blitz

Azuris

Take a look at Dragonbox.de, there you get these Games with an Discount, but beware, very limited Number.
I ordered Cotton 100 for the Super Nintendo, even if i don't really want more Games with Boxes
Edit also Attention! Those Reproductions do not fit very well on a original Pal or JP SNES.
The "Belly" is a bit to thick and it barely gets out and in the Super Nintendo.
At least it was like that with the Wild Guns Release and guessing from the Pictures, those are the same Shells.

Re: MARS FPGA Project Adds RetroTINK Creator Mike Chi To Its Team

Azuris

@845H @845H

Nah, i ment that i have a Mister and only for Dreamcast and some other Arcade Boards i'll not get a new expansive Device.
Playing with the Name Scheme, i'll skip Mars and wait until Jupiter will come with PS2 etc. support

Edit:
But as it is Mister, Mars, maybe a Mix between God and Name, so God Father.

Re: Aya Neo Unveils 'Remake' Line With Nintendo DS And Game Boy-Style Devices

Azuris

@BulkSlash
It is kinda strange considering that it sold so well, as the DS.
But it seems People aren't giving them really away.

You are right about the Screen, hopefully a Model 2.0 or another Company will fix that.

I have the original 3DS and a new one, the original one got an broken Cable to the Sceen and got fixed.
but i think they aren't as reliable and i really love the Library of the Systemy, so i really hope to have a Way or another to play those Games.

Maybe in VR with a 3D Feature XP

Re: Aya Neo Unveils 'Remake' Line With Nintendo DS And Game Boy-Style Devices

Azuris

@BulkSlash
Well, the DS Style one with dual Screen could at least be a Solution to get a Replacement for a DS/3DS.
You can get a DS for a reasonable Price, but at least here in some Parts of Europe, the 3DS is very overpriced.
Also with the Closure of the E-Shop, it could be a Way to play Games as near to the original Experience as possible.

Re: Random: Programmer Goes To Exceptional Lengths To Play Worms 2

Azuris

@KingMike Go get 7th Heaven
With that you can use your old CD Version and even Mod it if you want.
There are some nice Model Replacements for Example, that resemble the Battle Models and arent out of Place or the PSX Music.

@ralphdibny What i like more about Worms 2 than Armageddon is that you can tweak Weapons absurdly.
A Minigun that has the Explosion of a holy Granate with every Bullet? Go for it haha

Re: "Impossible" N64 MiSTer Core Is Making Impressive Progress

Azuris

I follow some Chanals on Youtube and it is crazy bow fast the Core Development is rolling.

@N64-ROX

FPGA IS the holy Grale, as it is the same as someone would manufacture a Clone CPU of the target Console but with additional modern Hardware and Features (HDMI, Overlay, USB, Network Cards).

The Problem with the Chip of the Mister is, that it is believed that it doesn't have enough Transistors that can mimik all of the N64 Architecture, so literally a physical Limit.

But the Steps done until now are very incredible, as it was thought that it will be never possible to even Emulate per Software the N64.
Even if it doesn't fits on the Mister CPU, other FPGA CPUs will take use of the Work and mimik the N64 accurate.

This work does not only preserve how older Consoles worked, it also saves you Money.
Getting a RGB Mod for the N64 is very pricey, the Everdrives and similiar have gotten also very pricey, new Controllers are also a Thing.

A Mister has everything in it and you can use your existing Controllers

Re: Anniversary: F-Zero GX Is 20 Today

Azuris

We all know we are oleld, stop telling us.
Some of us were even old when this came out XP

Edit: They could just remaster it ans maybe throw an easy Mode in, as it was pretty hard.
