@turboxray I kind of have to agree here a bit. There's a tendency to praise any homebrew Mega Drive game that gets released. I'm sure the game is pretty solid though.
Looks like Analogue has panicked a bit about the response to the delays and has decided to release it early...which means compatibility may not be great. 🤔
When it comes to single player games I use cheats and walkthroughs due to my poor reflexes and coordination. Besides, I play games because I want the experience, not the frustration so I appreciate the cheats.
@Kushan I agree!
@smoreon Cheats have been replaced with trainers anyway.
There's a massive problem in the way of doing something this which is support due to awareness. Will developers want to make a specific indie game work with this technology and with different upgrades to new tech to make homebrew games occurring a lot will this tech get outdated eventually? With console specific games developers know they have to keep to limitations but with homebrew developers they might not want to feel constricted by how the hardware of this console operates.
@mjparker77 They block easily. I really like Evercade but they need to get away from allowing just one game or political view. I got banned for less worse than what other users have done.
@mjparker77 I was cheerleading Evercade over on their Discord but I said I didn't like the 2012 Tomb Raider game. They have someone there that buys the carts to destroy or throw them out of windows but me not liking a game they think is great was enough to get me banned. Ironically even though I didn't have the money to get into buying their products I was always supporting and praising them on their Discord.
They're very ban happy. They originally banned me from their Facebook page because I criticised the version of Soccer Kid they were putting out. They unbanned me once I apologised. If you don't have the same opinions as they do about society or entertainment you become a target so that's what happened.
I think Commodore International are probably legally in the right here since they own most of the actual company. I find it quite sad though there's the usual people not interested in seeing the company revived. Is it better for the company to stay dead and irrelevant? I don't think those people are fans.
@BodyLotion Agreed! Not sure what the problem is here, they should be uniting plus they're focusing on different products anyway.
"had the company lost a vital court case back in 1983, we may never have seen either of these characters again – and, you could argue, Nintendo itself might not have become the powerful force it is today."
You talk about this like it's a bad thing? Joking, not joking, JOKING! (runs away from mob) 😂
You also talk about "horrible" logic when the game is pretty straightforward with its puzzles compared to LucasArts with its obscure puzzle logic solutions. 😆
I encourage more of these books if it means less comments like "I could never get into those euro-platformers" as though they're that "thing" I never grew up to appreciate and validate next to platformers outside of Europe. 🙄
@Exerion76 I maintain GZT isn't just the best FMV game for Mega CD but one of its best games. Good story and for an FMV game there's a lot of gameplay.
@Exerion76 Yeah that one hurts as it's one of my favourite FMV games and one of the best Mega CD games. At least Corpse Killer still exists but admittedly not great compared to GZT.
@kitestar All of these games should be remastered for future generations, good or bad.
@Exerion76 I did ask about GZT at the time of the remaster and was told only the video tapes existed so this might be the only quality available although it's odd considering it was treated as a film production with a film director.
Actually I asked them directly, Flash Film Works response:
"On GZT none of the dailies reels survived, and all that was available was a Betacam SP dub of the edited masters."
"Also does any film exist for any of the Digital Pictures games? Was sad when my favourite Ground Zero Texas only existed via video tape."
"The only film dailies that existed were for Corpse Killer, What's My Story and some of the model work on Maximum Surge. Most of the projects were shot on digital betacam."

Re: Review: Final Fight MD (Mega Drive) - Arguably The Best Version Of Capcom's Belt-Scrolling Classic
Have to disagree. For all the stuff it adds I think the Mega CD version might be superior thanks to its audio.

Re: Review: Rare Collection 1 (Evercade) - 12 Classics From A Legendary British Studio
@mjparker77 I don't tend to support people that have mistreated me. Anyway game prices will just keep going up on certain game systems.

While I refuse to support Evercade, this is a pretty good collection of Rare's games.

@mjparker77 What's Rise of the Robots got to do with Simon the Sorcerer??? 🤣🤣🤣
Re: The Studio Behind Simon the Sorcerer's Prequel Is Reportedly Remaking The Amiga Classic
@mjparker77 It was an acclaimed game on release. The original is seen as a classic game:

You also talk about "horrible" logic when the game is pretty straightforward with its puzzles compared to LucasArts with its obscure puzzle logic solutions. 😆
Re: After More Than Half A Decade Of Hype, Sonic Has Finally Arrived On The GX4000 & Amstrad Plus
This is a real technical achievement. Well done to those involved.
@JackGYarwood It looks like a port of the Game Gear version, not the Master System version. The Sonic sprite is a big giveaway.
Re: The Studio Behind Simon the Sorcerer's Prequel Is Reportedly Remaking The Amiga Classic
@Santar I miss the original sprites. If they want to remake it going forward the Origins sprite doesn't fit the old game.
@mjparker77 Thankfully, very few people agree with your wild take. 😊
Re: The Studio Behind Simon the Sorcerer's Prequel Is Reportedly Remaking The Amiga Classic
I would rather they remake 3-5. The original needs a remaster, not a remake.

Re: Tired Of "The Usual North American Perspectives", This New Book Aims To Offer A Global View Of Game History
@profkross Absolutely! Considering the team's behind these games would have been three people, not a massive studio I think they did a damn good job.
Also, yes Zool is my favourite game of all time. I love that little fella. 😊

@Exerion76 Every region makes bad games. Every region makes good games. 👍
Re: MicroProse's Desert Strike Homage 'Cleared Hot' Takes Flight This November
@hste Looking at their new catalogue of games they're heading in the correct direction so they're very much the old Microprose in my opinion.

Re: James Pond Is Getting His Own Collection On PC, PS5, Xbox And Switch 2
(sighs) Yet again Master System gets shafted. 🙄
@Leahi84 Fans that's why.
@Exerion76 I feel the same about Japanese platformers. 😉
@Guru_Larry From my understanding the PS1 version has been changed a bit for each new port, for the worse.

@MARl0 Nope.

Re: MicroProse's Desert Strike Homage 'Cleared Hot' Takes Flight This November
I love the fact MicroProse was revived but this isn't the type of game I'd associate with them. I think they're best at handling simulations. 🤔
